UNSENT LETTER 10

This one is for anyone who ever felt out of place or too different 💓.

Don’t worry about not fitting in. The things that make people think you’re weird are what makes you you, and therefore your greatest strength. — Birgitte Hjort Sorensen

Recently I was challenged to try and be more observant. Observant of people, things, places, just name it. And as someone who loves challenges, I set out to watch, listen and learn. Now, I did observe a whole lot but the one thing that stood out for me is that we are all different. From the smallest things like our fingerprints to bigger things like our beliefs.

So, the other day I asked a few of my friends a random question. ‘What is the one thing that you think is weird about you?’ And these were some of their answers:

1.I have like a million weird little things! Why would you limit my weird to just one!? 2. I am an omnivert -someone who can be an extreme introvert or extrovert depending on the circumstance.) 3. The only way I enjoy bacon, egg or ham is if they are extra crispy. 4. I usually text without punctuation. 5. I am nice to everyone, if that’s weird. 6. I hate the taste of meat products but I still want to eat them, so I just add too much chili to mask the taste. 7. I never leave the house without a red pen for some reason. 8. I am spontaneous in my ways. 9. I don’t like attention- even being told I look good is too much attention for me. 10. I hate donkeys. 11. I try to see the best in everyone and everything. 12. I like attention- shower me with all the attention please. 13. Most of me lives in my head. 14. Oh good Lord, I am so weird, and I think the fact that I can’t mention even one cause they have evaporated is really weird. 15. I am not weird, that’s the weird thing about me!

It is safe to say that we all have our definition of weird. Some people view it as a bad thing to be but as for UNSENT LETTERS, weird is definitely a good thing. My friends all mentioned the one thing they thought made them stand apart, or feel inferior or different. Reading all their weird made me think, I truly I’m blessed to know a couple of humans who are amazing in their own right.

The fact that we are different means that we will always have something that sets us apart from each other. The world would definitely be a boring place with just one type of cake! I can go on and on about how weird is wonderful and how being unique is a good thing but you already know that you can’t be the best version of yourself if you constantly hide who you are. I bet you already know that the only way to find your people is by being yourself and hoping you attract your kind. You already know that pretending to be someone else is really exhausting. You already know that you are loved, just the way you are!

I once read, that the fact that you are still breathing means that you are not done with living yet. You only get one chance at living, why spend it being anyone but yourself? If the world did not need your special blend of unique, you wouldn’t be here.

So, while you are here, Be BOLD or ITALIC, never regular!

I would not dare to leave you guys without a few laughs of how weird I am so, here is a couple of weird things I love about who I am, number one was mentioned by a friend : 1. My whole existence! 2. I haven’t taken a hot/warm showers in over ten years. 3. I do not know how to ride a bicycle. 4. I am not a fan of soda or sugar. 5. I tell stories with sound effects. 6. I honestly hate sleeping at night, I’d be better off writing, reading, watching or even doing karaoke. 7. I am way too passionate about the color black. 8. I am lactose intolerant ( but the amount of milk based things I enjoy should be illegal.) 9. I still write in a diary. 10. Up until recently, I pronounced Francisco as ‘ ‘Frankisko’ and I still struggle with saying it the right way.
